Forgiveness dissolves feelings of anger, hatred, and resentment and leaves one with feelings of peace, gratitude and joy in their place. Such feelings make us happy. Feelings of anger, hatred, and resentment make us feel unhappy and miserable. So forgiveness rewards itself in this life.
